World Economic Forum, Davos
The World Economic Forum is not a small event, and being asked to travel to Davos with one of my regular corporate clients is quite the compliment. Not least because they had already licensed a collection of my Scottish landscape images to decorate the space they were occupying in the town during the Forum - shooting their event was a bit like photographing a party at an exhibition of my own work!
The actual shoot itself was an unusual affair. I was on-site for two days solid, and had to be ready to shoot at any point. This meant a lot of waiting, and checking kit to make sure that everything was good to go when needed. When the boss has a photo call with a visiting celebrity or VIP, you may only have ten seconds to get the shot before they get down to business.
It’s a far cry from the days spent shooting the landscapes that adorned the walls, but there’s every bit as much satisfaction in delivering good images from challenging circumstances like this.
